Ontelaunee Orchards Famous Apple Cider!
Ontelaunee Orchards, Inc. has been producing Apple Cider since the 1970s. We combine at least 6 varieties of quality apples to create the perfect blend between a tart, sweet, and aromatic flavor. Although our biggest demand time is in the fall, our cider is processed and available year round. All of our cider is flash pasteurized and chilled rapidly for the safety of our consumers. Pasteurization does not alter the taste of the cider. Ourcider is FDA certified, Kosher certified, and Primus GFSI certified, and made under HACCP guidelines.
You may see our cider at supermarkets such as Redners, Stauffer's of Kistle Hill private label, Christmas Village, and local farm stands.
Have you tried our new varietal flavors? We make a 100% Honeycrsip cider which has become very popular. Ontelaunee Orchards also makes a 100% Fuji cider, which has been described as the "champagne of ciders".

Making Cider at Ontelaunee Orchards
Our apples are hand picked and harvested from our orchard and are stored in wooden or plastic bins in our controlled atmosphere building until they are ready to be made into cider. The wooden/plastic crates of apples are dumped into a giant "hopper" where they flow onto a sorting belt.
The apples then continue up another belt into a giant "chopper"where they are chopped up into small pieces. Very similiar to a Chopper, they go on another belt into a giant chopper where they are chopped up into small pieces. Very similiar to a blender.
The apples are now in a "slushy" form. They travel through a hose from the bottom of the chopper into a cider press. The slushy very tight like an accordion.
Once the press is full of the "apple slushy", the hydraulics squeeze and all the apple juice runs out the bottom through a hose. The hose then leads to a big strainer to remove any sediment that has gotten through the screens from the cider press. From the strainer, the cider runs into one of our two pasteurizing tanks and is then pasteurized.
We are now ready to bottle our cider! This machine pours the cider into either gallon, half gallon, or pint containers.
Almost finished! Here the containers are labeled, stamped, and dated.
